Motivational and Agile Mindset- Best of Both Worlds.

Every minute of an average day is formed by its share of constant tasks and priorities, coupled with an ever-growing list of assignments.  It can be difficult to acquire insight into the health of a project without a plan in place. This is where an agile mentality comes to work!

Though traditionally linked with software development teams, the agile technique is currently being used successfully by a wide range of sectors.  This is why many firms have included the agile technique in their project management methods.

Agile mentality and methodology refer to the incorporation of creative, analytical, and cooperative learning to produce high-quality solutions. These include respect, teamwork, improvement and learning cycles, pride in ownership, a focus on creating value, and the ability to adapt to change. The agile mentality requires teams to put aside ego and focus on what is right rather than who is right.

Agile has expanded beyond software-related activities to become a management style in its own right.

      Customer satisfaction is prioritized.

      Self-organized groups

      Collaboration and networking

Motivation is the key to success. Motivational moments pave the way for success and improved outcomes. Having an agile mindset can allow us to strategically motivate ourselves and push beyond our limits to achieve the achievable. Agile mentality and motivation go hand in hand as they both work to support each other's cause. The sole reason companies adopt an agile mindset in motivating their employees is due to the better productivity seen in the aftermath.

Using agile methods also provides companies with an essential and accurate framework to abide by, and makes achieving goals easier. Such a mindset involves listing the needs, requirements, and method of approach of any project, which helps the workers accurately direct their energy to achieve the goals. So how can this different theory of motivation be achieved in agile?

One such theory includes Maslow’s pyramid of hierarchy. The agile mindset can be closely related to such a theory as it addresses the pyramid's higher levels; this is done through the agile team idea. Agile teams self-organize and self-manage; "they internally decide who does what, when, and how" (Scrum Guide). This autonomy fosters a sense of belonging.

Agile teams are also cross-functional. Designers, architects, business analysts, developers, and testers are all common members of an agile team. In each sprint, each team member is important to the creation of something worthwhile. As a result, each team member may feel valued, knowing that their abilities, creativity, and dynamism are important to completing the project.

In contrast, organizations organize themselves into analytical teams, testing teams, development teams, and so on.

How Everything is figureoutable?

Oftentimes when we feel hopeless and despair, we just need a trigger in the right way to get us going. The book “Everything is figureoutable” by Marico Farico is just what is needed by motivation-driven individuals. It contains all the useful insights and techniques which will impel you to work harder and garner results.

Belief

Marico talks about the “Everything is figureoutable” mindset whenever faced with hardships. This provides an assurance and tricks the brain to take ease and not panic. Other techniques include decision-making skills and the emphasis on taking the right action, this helps in directing the course and outcome of the decision you've made. Marico says that the right actions always result in the right results.

Thoughts

To achieve any goal it is important to think of yourself as capable enough in achieving it that is well accepted and implemented in agile. The first step to achieving any goal is to believe in yourself and your capabilities, this can be done with strength and perseverance when coupled with hard work and grit to help you achieve your goals.

Feelings

Everything is figureoutable” emphasizes regarding feelings, saying that any problem can be solved if we critically think about all the possible ways that could solve it. The first step to tackling a problem would be to think consciously about how it can be solved and what actions can influence bringing positive change.

You Only Live Once

It is important to stay motivated in any facet of your life. However motivation does not just come to you, you have to take the first step. This blog has shown how we as consumers can take the first step towards motivating ourselves by incorporating various strategies used by multinational organizations. One such strategy and methodology is the agile methodology, which has its perks and banes. It is important to have a motivating and optimistic mindset to ensure that our hard work is spent in the right direction and results are obtained.

In the end, we only live once, so let's make our life worthwhile.
